New Speakers Announced

We are excited to add two technology components to our Semi-Annual Symposium agenda for November 7th. With Tom Jenkins, we will explore Anticipant Organizations: New rules for leading in digital society and in partnership with Ontario Centres of Excellence, we will hear first-hand from Ontario firms having success with emerging technologies.

Tom Jenkins, Chair of OG100 and Chair of OpenText Corporation

Tom Jenkins, Chair of OG100 and Chair of OpenText Corporation, co-authored a new novel with David Fraser, retired Major General of the Canadian Armed Forces. In his keynote, Jenkins will draw on his experience in leadership and dig into the importance of humans establishing the ground rules to guide machines. Jenkins believes there is only one viable strategy for human leadership in a world where machines react in nanoseconds: to anticipate and create anticipant organizations.

In the afternoon, we are featuring an Emerging Technologies CEO Panel with Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE). For this panel, we will hear from Ontario based companies are working and succeeding in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and blockchain.

One of the projects OCE coordinates is ENCQOR (Evolution of Networked Services through a Corridor in Québec and Ontario for Research and Innovation). ENCQOR is a platform where SMEs can test ideas and technology.

This networked services corridor is focused on research and innovation in the field of 5G disruptive technologies, on adoption initiatives and system uses. ENCQOR 5G established the first Canadian pre-commercial corridor of 5G digital infrastructure — the key to making the digital economy a reality.

ENCQOR 5G focuses on giving SMEs, researchers and academia access to 5G networks. The initiative is designed to both unlock the technological promise of 5G in the near term and drive long-term economic growth in Ontario and Québec and in the broader Canadian innovation ecosystem.

And with these additions, the agenda is full for our Semi-Annual Symposium.
