This morning we had a briefing call with our keynote speaker Marc Busch. He’s not afraid to speak his mind when it comes to the state of trade and how it intertwines with politics.
Marc holds many titles: multiple award-winning professor at Georgetown University, a scholar, host of the trade-centric podcast Tradecraft, and he’s an authority on today’s global trade – advising for many U.S. political leaders.
As a sample of what’s to come, check out this recent episode of Tradecraft. Marc offers a blueprint for a trade truce between China and the U.S.
In his keynote, Marc will cover a range of topics, including USMCA and the impact that U.S. policy has on Canada. We are looking forward to a lively discussion and Q&A with Marc.
We are also pleased to announce our panelists for the Emerging Technologies session with Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE). From left to right: Jeremy Laurin, Vice President, Business Development and Partnerships at OCE (moderator); Nicholas Burgwin, Co-Founder at FIBOS and; Christian Weedbrook, Founder and CEO of Xanadu.
The Fibos vision is to create the industry standard for optical point sensors. Xanadu is a full-stack quantum computing and advanced AI company developing cloud-based hardware and software solutions. These Ontario based companies are working and succeeding in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. We are looking forward to hearing their success stories.
