Ambassador David L. Cohen
U.S. Ambassador to Canada
Before his appointment by President Biden and unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate as U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David L. Cohen served as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Comcast Corporation as of January 1, 2020.  He was previously Senior Executive Vice President at Comcast, where his portfolio included corporate communications, legal affairs, government and regulatory affairs, public affairs, corporate administration, corporate real estate and security, and community impact.  Cohen also served as the company’s first chief diversity officer. Simon Kennedy
Deputy Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development
Simon Kennedy was named Deputy Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in September 2019. He has overseen ISED’s response to the global pandemic, working with industry to pivot towards the production of medical supplies and to build up Canadian biomanufacturing capacity, rolling out new programs to aid businesses affected by the pandemic, and partnering with Canadian companies to support innovation and industrial transformation. Iain Stewart
President, National Research Council Canada
In August 2016, Iain Stewart was appointed the 12th President of the National Research Council of Canada. His current term extends to September 2025. In September 2020, Mr. Stewart took a one-year leave of absence to become President of the Public Health Agency of Canada. He returned to the NRC in October 2021, after the successful implementation of Canada’s national COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Stewart was Associate Secretary of the Treasury Board Secretariat, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy, at the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED). Dr. Cody has more than 30 years of professional practice in the private sector as a professional engineer, corporate executive and principal shareholder of an engineering firm. Dr. Cody has provided professional engineering services to some of Canada’s largest Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), financial institutions, builders and developers. Dr. Cody is a recipient of the Award of Merit by the Canadian Standards Association, was awarded the Order of Montreal in 2019, was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada in 2020, and one of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs in 2010 by Profit Magazine.
